From brand builder to maker.
For most of my career, I worked in marketing for almost 20 years, helping build brands people know and love, including the iconic Lindt Gold Bunny. Today, I work as a Leadership & Management Trainer at the BMW Group Academy, helping people grow their confidence, skills and careers.
I bloody love what I do. That's by day.
Because in the evenings and week-ends, when I'm away from training rooms and laptops, and when I'm not running or coaching marketing leaders, you'll usually find me in the loft with a piece of Italian leather in one hand, a cup of coffee nearby and Ninka, my husky, keeping me company.
Why leather?
Strapline began from a simple desire: to create something real. With my hands. After years spent working with ideas, presentations and strategy, I found myself drawn to making things by hand. I loved the slower pace. The need for patience. The craftsmanship. The satisfaction of transforming a flat piece of leather into something useful, beautiful and made to last. And the hair-pulling which comes with making mistakes.
What started as curiosity following a holiday in the south of France quickly became a growing passion.
Handmade in the countryside in the UK.
Today, every Strapline piece is handcrafted by me in Buckinghamshire, UK. Flackwell Heath, more specifically - I absolutely love our village and county!. From designing an idea, sourcing, selecting the leather and cutting the pattern to stitching, edge finishing and packaging, every item passes through my hands before it reaches yours.
There are no factories. No production lines. No outsourcing. Just one maker and one piece at a time.
The little things matter.
I believe the things we carry every day should feel special, give us more confidence and add an edge somehow. A glasses case attached to your favourite handbag that no one has. A stylish pouch that keeps life's essentials organised. A pair of statement earrings that sparks a conversation.
Sometimes the smallest accessories make the biggest impression. And give us a little extra confidence too.
Why "Strapline"?
In marketing, a strapline is the memorable phrase that helps a brand stand out. In leathercraft, straps, textures and details bring products to life. Strapline brings those two worlds together. Thoughtful design. Lasting craftsmanship.
Small Batches. One-Off Pieces. I don't produce thousands of identical products, let alone dozens. In fact, most of Strapline pieces are completely unique. I source beautiful leathers from Italy and never quite know what treasures I'll find next. Once a particular hide is gone, it's often gone for good. That means no two pieces are exactly the same.
It also means that when you see something you love, it may never be made again.
